April 2011 brings the newly transformed and rebranded Sydney Carnival. Sydney Carnival brings together the very best horses, jockeys and trainers to compete in Australia’s global city, creating the ultimate thoroughbred racing and sales experience for enthusiasts, social seekers and the broader Sydney community. Working in partnership with the Sydney Turf Club, Australian Jockey Club, Racing NSW and other key industry stakeholders, Events NSW marketing team led the rebranding of the Autumn Racing Carnival. The result was a brand that was embraced by all stakeholders and will form a key plank of the Sydney Carnival as it grows in the coming years. Headlining the Carnival with new fixed dates and offering a fully integrated program of racingis the AAMI Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens and the David Jones Australian Derby at Royal Randwick. Positioned between Slipper and Derby Days is the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale featuring the best young thoroughbreds in the Southern Hemisphere and attracting buyers from around Australia and across the world. Sydney is now set to own the April slot on the international racing calendar between the Dubai World Cup in March and the Kentucky Derby in May.
