IFEA World Festival And Event City Award : Annual Report
Gauging community sentiment towards the events landscape is paramount to Events NSW. The Events NSW “Community Tracker” is a monthly online survey of NSW residents. A representative sample of approximately 500 respondents across NSW have been surveyed every month since October 2008, with over 13,000 surveys completed (as at December 2010). Cumulative results: • Over 9 in 10 NSW residents believe it is ‘important’ or ‘very important’ for Sydney/NSW to hold significant sporting, arts, cultural and/or community events. • Economic impact is clearly the key benefit that NSW residents want events to drive. This is most clearly evident in regional NSW. Since commencing the Community Tracker in 2008 the economic impact has consistently been seen as the most important benefit of staging events in NSW.
